Asana Lab - Handstand and Headstand with Chelsea Brown
Meet the King + Queen: Headstand and Shoulderstand. Headstand and Shoulderstand are both fundamental inversions in the hatha yoga tradition.
Headstand, or sirsasana, promotes mental clarity, aligns the chakra system, strengthens the limbs, and aids in digestion. Shoulderstand, or Salamba Sarvangasana, nurtures the fluid systems of the body, cools the mind, and improves pranayama.
Learn to engage the core and limbs, use props to build the postures, and access the bandha system to safely and successfully add these beautiful postures to your practice. *Class will also include comprehensive exploration of handstand as a preparation for head stand.
This class is not recommended for anyone with a history of neck injuries, glaucoma, or high blood pressure.
