Give your teen the chance to chill with a series of yoga poses, breathing exercises, and guided relaxations, culminating in a mindful collage and writing project to take home!
The lesson of yoga can be boiled down into one short phrase from the Yoga Sutras: "Yoga is the stilling of the mind." But that's much easier said than done, especially when you're dealing with the transitional growth of the teenage years! Teens today are facing more stress than ever, compounded by the pressures of an ever-changing landscape during the pandemic.
This ninety minute workshop was created to meet the particular needs of teenagers. Each participant will be given a customizable journal to record the parts of practice that they want to repeat on their own when they most need it. Class will include some discussion of identifying the impacts of stress on our bodies and minds, as well as useful resources and strategies for self-regulation.
Yoga teaches us that beyond the surface, each of us contains a connection to pure joy. This class intends to help teen yogis touch that place.

No experience is necessary. Class will be led by Chelsea Brown, a dedicated yogi since her own teen years and longtime youth yoga teacher.
Please note: Starting February 28, 2022 masks are currently optional at the studio for all yoga classes. Proof of Covid vaccination is required for all eligible participants.
